Some of the client rules first check the category that may or may not have been set by the 365 rules. If I could guarantee that the 365 rules would run and would run first then I could rely on the rules.

I've started my laptop this morning to find that all of my client rules have gone and three of the 365 rules have replaced them, the other two stayed on 365 even though they are all just category changing rules. I do have office 365 for home as well but I use google for mail as I can't host my domain name on. Whin I say office 365 I mean Office 365 for Education.

When you have an Exchange account, rules can still be server-side or client-side, with the server-side rules running even if Outlook isn't and the client-side running once you start Outlook, but you'llīe able to see and control them all from the client. My logic went Office 365 is always on so these rules would be handled whatever else was I reasoned that if I moved all the rules that simply set a category to Office 365 these would then apply whether I accessed from the web or from outlook on my machine. I am an office 365 user and am currently using the Office 2016 preview (although that is probably irrelevant to this question). I have been using quite a few rules in outlook, some of which are accessing the features of outlook, but many are not.
